Cavities are a kind of tooth decay, which occur when specific bacteria types produce acid that destroys the tooth’s enamel and the underlying layer, i.e., the dentin.
It is believed by a lot of people that once tooth decay sets in, it’s quite impossible to reverse it, but the reality is, there are several ways to reverse cavities naturally.
A study published in the British Medical Journal shows that cavities and tooth decay can potentially be reversed with diet. Namely, 62 children who had cavities were divided into 3 groups in the study. The first group ate a standard diet and oatmeal rich in phytic acid. The second group ate a normal diet supplemented with Vitamin D, whereas the third group 3 ate a grain-free diet along with Vitamin D.
According to the researchers, Group 1 that had a high-grain and phytic acid diet had an increase in cavities. But, Group 2 had improvements in cavities, whereas Group 3 that followed a grain-free diet with nutrient-rich foods as well as Vitamin D supplements had the greatest improvements. Believe it or not, but almost all of the cavities in Group 3’s participants were healed.
There are a great number of doctors and dentists that have backed the findings of this study, suggesting that diet can actually help the cavities sufferers to reverse their tooth decay.
Dr. Weston Price, Dr. Edward Mellanby, and Dr. Ramiel Nagel point out that there are 4 main factors, which lead to tooth decay:
- Lack of fat-soluble vitamins, i.e., Vitamin A, D, E and K deficiency
- Lack of minerals in the diet, i.e., magnesium, calcium and phosphorus deficiency
- Excessive consumption of processed sugars

1. Exclude sugar consumption
In order to have healthy, cavity-free teeth, then, sugar should be excluded from your diet. Despite it feeds the oral bacteria that prevent healthy dental fluid, but it’s also highly acidic, thus allowing it to decalcify and de-mineralize the teeth’s structural content!
2. Include nutrient-rich foods
Elimination of tooth decay requires an increase in fat-soluable vitamins and minerals.
